Empathy (from the Greek, empatheia, affection, passion) is fundamental in creating healthy patterns of communication in the family. Would you like to increase your capacity to give and receive empathy? This gentle and supportive group offers parents-to-be a safe space to explore current patterns of communication (inner dialogue and interpersonal dialogue) and create new patterns for expanded well-being and joyful parenting. Some topics we'll explore:
Our highly interactive Learning Conversation will draw on the work of Humberto Maturana (The Biology of Love), Marshall Rosenberg (Life-Serving Education, Raising Children Compassionately) and Claudia's experience in 30 years of childbirth and early parenting education, and public, private and alternative education. Facilitator Claudia L'Amoreaux is an internationally recognized educational consultant, parent educator and learning coach. Her work has appeared in the BBC's Guide to the New Millennium. She is featured in the film On the Wild Side--Meetings with Remarkable Women. She co-authored the book, Creating Learning Communities (Solomon Press, 2000). Claudia directs the Haven Learning Center in West Berkeley. She has a 24-year-old daughter. Registration Groups have a maximum of 6 participants.
