SciFi/Fantasy Writers Workshop
A Creative Writing group for 14 - 18 year olds

8 sessions: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:00 - 1 pm
Registration deadline - June 30
This workshop is for aspiring and practicing SciFi and Fantasy writers. Only requirement - love Science Fiction and/or Fantasy genres. Workshop includes readings, film clips, discussion and writing experiments. We'll explore a range of skills including free-writing, collaborative writing, self-editing, publishing. Writers will set their own writing goals for the workshop. All levels of writers encouraged to attend. Limited to 6 participants. $375 tuition—text included (Cory Doctorow's The Complete Idiot's Guide to Publishing Science Fiction). Writing coach Claudia L'Amoreaux is an editor and published writer. She started writing science fiction short stories when she was eight years old.
Graphic Novella Workshop
For 14 - 18 year olds
August 2 - 25
8 sessions: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:00 - 1 pm
Registration deadline - July 20
This workshop is for young people interested in creating Sequential Art (alias comics). We'll study the history and current art form of the Graphic Novel. Participants will create their own "Graphic Novellas." Limited to 6 participants. $375 tuition—text included (Scott McCloud's Understanding Comics). Students will need to supply their own materials. Facilitated by Claudia L'Amoreaux with special appearances by local comic artists.
